Riot has released five Riftbound sets since the game launched in October 2025, and two more are confirmed for the first half of 2027. This guide lists every set in release order with its set code, English release date and size, plus what each one added. It's the page to bookmark when a card listing shows a set code you don't recognize.
Last checked October 4, 2026. Riot sometimes adjusts dates for some regions, so confirm against Riot's set announcement before you plan around a release.

Card counts vary depending on whether a source counts Showcase and overnumbered variants, which is why you'll see different totals for the same set online. The 2027 figures are Riot's announced numbers.
Set 1: Origins (OGN)
Origins launched the game on October 31, 2025 and introduced the core rules, the six domains, the first wave of Legends and the first battlefields. It's also the set behind the Proving Grounds box, which teaches the game with four ready-to-play decks, and the first Champion Decks. Origins cards are still Standard-legal, and many of them are still core to competitive decks.
Set 2: Spiritforged (SFG)
Spiritforged arrived on February 13, 2026, the first expansion. It added new Legends and deepened the domain pairings Origins established. It was also the first time Riftbound players had to think about a card pool spread across more than one set.
Set 3: Unleashed (UNL)
Unleashed released on May 8, 2026. It is one of the larger expansions, and community box openings put it at roughly 6–7 Epics, 2–4 alternate art cards and well under one overnumbered card per booster display on average. For more on pull rates, see our Riftbound rarities guide.
Set 4: Vendetta (VEN)
Vendetta released on July 31, 2026. It was the first Riftbound set to launch in English, Italian, Japanese and Chinese on the same day, which ended the staggered regional releases of the first three sets. The July 24 ban list update arrived alongside it.
Set 5: Radiance (RAD)
Radiance is the fifth set, releasing October 23, 2026, with a Pre-Rift window from October 16 to 22. It has 180 cards, including 66 Showcase cards, a performance and spotlight theme, and Legends such as Seraphine, Ziggs, Jarvan IV, Ekko and Evelynn. Our Riftbound Radiance guide has the full breakdown.
What's the next Riftbound set after Radiance?
Riot has announced its 2027 schedule:
- Legacy (LGC), January 29, 2027: tagline "Bear the Banner. Forge Your Legacy." It has a region-focused design and 346 cards.
- Proving Grounds, 2nd Edition, February 2027: a refreshed learn-to-play box.
- The Reckoning (REC), April 30, 2027: "Awaken the Ancients", built around big champions, with 264 cards.
- Set 8, Q3 2027: Bandle City themed.
- Set 9, Q4 2027: teased, but not yet detailed.
We cover all of these in our Riftbound 2027 release guide.
Has any Riftbound set rotated out?
Not yet. As of October 2026, no Riftbound set has rotated out of Standard, so every card from Origins onward is legal unless it appears on the Riftbound ban list. That makes older-set singles worth keeping. A staple from Origins can still be a three-of in your current deck.
How to read a Riftbound set code
Every Riftbound card has its set code and collector number printed on it, such as OGN or SFG followed by a number. When you search for a card, the set code tells you which printing you're looking at. That matters for collectors because alternate art and overnumbered versions share a name with the base card but have different numbers. On our site, each Riftbound single lists its set so you can match the exact printing you want.
Which Riftbound set should you buy?
It depends on what you want:
- Learning the game: start with a preconstructed product, then upgrade. See our Riftbound starter deck guide.
- Building a specific deck: buy singles across whichever sets your list uses. Our Riftbound singles are searchable by card name.
- Collecting a set: focus on the newest release while supply is highest, and track the overnumbered and Signature cards you want. Our overnumbered and Signature card guide explains the chase tiers.
