Riftbound has caught on quickly across the country, and Canadian players have their own practical questions: where to buy cards without paying in US dollars, how shipping and duties work, whether French cards are legal and how to find a local event. This Riftbound Canada guide answers all of them.
Buying Riftbound cards in Canada
Canadian players generally buy in one of three places:
| Where | Pros | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Local game stores | Play space, events, community | Selection depends on what the store carries |
| Canadian online stores | Prices in CAD, domestic shipping, no customs | Check that the store sells authentic product |
| US or international marketplaces | Wide selection | Exchange rate, cross-border shipping, possible duties and taxes, longer delivery |
The hidden cost in cross-border orders is everything after the price tag: currency conversion, shipping, and sometimes duties and brokerage fees on delivery. Buying from a Canadian store keeps the whole transaction in CAD and inside the country.

Are French Riftbound cards legal?
Riftbound is printed in several languages, and French is one of them: Riot announced Radiance for English, Chinese and French at launch. That matters for players in Quebec and other francophone communities. Check the current tournament rules for language policies at your event, and remember that a card's function doesn't change between languages. If your opponent has a card in a language you can't read, you're entitled to ask what it does.
Finding Riftbound events in Canada
All official store events are listed on PlayRiftbound.com, where you sign in with your Riot ID. Store events moved there from Carde.io in September 2026. Search by city to find participating stores near you. In larger cities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary and Ottawa, you'll usually find several stores running events.
The event types to look for:
- Nexus Nights: weekly casual events. The best place for new players.
- Nexus Cups: monthly, a little more competitive.
- Pre-Rift: early play in the week before each new set releases.
Our Riftbound tournaments guide explains the full ladder, from Nexus Nights to the World Championship.
Travelling to premier events
Riftbound's biggest 2026 events have been in Europe, Asia and the US. The North American Regional Championship runs alongside Convergence Fest in Las Vegas on December 11–13, 2026. For 2027, Riot is moving to Regionals (three or four per set) and four Continental Championships, which should give Canadian players more options. Watch the official announcements for locations.
Shipping and storing cards in a Canadian climate
Cards don't love humidity or dramatic temperature swings, and Canadian winters bring both: dry indoor heat and cold porches. A few habits help:
- Sleeve cards as soon as they arrive.
- Let a package warm up to room temperature before opening it, so condensation doesn't form on cold cards.
- Store your collection away from exterior walls, heaters and damp basements.
More on this in our Riftbound sleeves and storage guide.
